With the turmoil that is the DC Universe timeline, one may find a few individuals who have become hung on where a film like Joker, or, in this case, The Batman may sit in the Snyder-spliced DC movie verse, if at all.
Well, as far as DC Comics is concerned, they went ahead to clarify, like all DC films have been doing since Batman V Superman, just where it sits in the hierarchy of things.
DC Films President Walter Hamada went on the record to confirm that The Batman movie will be a “Year Two Batman” story. Not only that, but The Batman movie’s narrative timeline exists in a universe totally separate from that of the Justice League.
Who knows this may change if by some feat Zack Snyder creates a universally loved cut of Justice League that rights all the wrongs. In any case, Matt Reeves looks to cement his take on the Dark Knight in The Batman as a monolith rather than a nexus.
