Netflix continues to expand their catalogue of animated features and series with the announcement of The Witcher universe being expanded with the announcement of The Witcher: Nightmare Of The Wolf movie.

Now more details have come about with regards to the narrative and main character headlining The Witcher spin-off project. And it ain’t Geralt of Rivia. (Law of) Surprise!

The Witcher: Nightmare Of The Wolf will instead tell the origins of Vesemir, who is the mentor and guide that taught Geralt all he knows.

This new anime movie is currently spearheaded by The Witcher‘s producers Lauren Hissrich and Beau DeMayo. The animation will be handled by Studio Mir – the renowned Korean animation studio behind The Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender.

Presently, it is unknown whether Nightmare of the Wolf‘s release will proceed or follow The Witcher Season 2 in 2021.
