While many have seen the merger of Fox and Disney as a glorious return of Marvel IP back into the fold, there have been a few tha have seen the even as a blight to diversity in narratives, on that has led to the erosion of films that exist out of the present Disney mold.
And the latter view seems to be given that much more credence when you consider how Disney has been rolling out the current trailer of a non-Marvel comic book movie a week before its cinematic release – The Empty Man.
The Empty Man –based on the prolific BOOM! Studios graphic novels – is a horror film exploring the local urban legend of The Empty Man. And the fact that this movie is not Marvel and is a horror speaks to why this movie has been given even worse treatment than what The New Mutants got. If you could believe that.
I can only imagine how annoyed the director and stars must feel that the film they worked on is not getting its just deserve, especially with Covid going amuck.
But check out the trailer they snuck out without much fanfare and judge for yourself.
