Sony Pictures slice of the Marvel movie franchise gears up for the coming Spider-Man-related feature Morbius starring Jared Leto. And whilst we know when this movie is set to enter cinemas, new news teases the coming of another Sony-led Marvel movie. The actual name and full nature of the Marvel film is not yet know, there is a proposed release date – October 8, 2021.

Another safe assumption is, of course, the film is related to a Spider-Man spin-off project. The films that are already confirmed for release are the sequel to Venom that is due up October 2, 2020 and Spider-Verse 2 which comes out in April 8, 2022

As such, the range of possibilities include the Spider-Verse spin-off. Possibly even the previously teased Silver Sable , Kraven The Hunter or Black Cat movies. Or maybe a tease for something entirely new, like the proposed Spider-Man vs. Venom film event. Or maybe the long-promised and fabled Sinister Six project.

Understandably, a Sinister Six movie is a hail mary. Especially when you consider Mysterio is dead; sure, we already know Marvel isn’t above the soap opera technique of bringing the dead back to life, but Sony has an intrinsic need to attach itself to the MCU, and veering of course from the roots set by Morbius would be more damaging than good.

More as things develop.
