DC Comics and WB have managed to keep a very tight lid on the Batman V Superman thus far, with much of the updates being just images of Aquaman, Batman and Lex Luthor. But when the pre-trailer was released, and subseuently the date of the official trailer released was announced for this Monday, it would seem not even Superman or a little dutch boy could finger this dyke hole.
The trailer has been leaked, shottily shot by pirate-like camera / equipment, as you would expect. But nonetheless it is awesome. Firstly, we get a great revelatory sense of something impending on the event horizon. Superman is a god-like figure, revered in a scene where it seems soldiers boy before him. But this ‘second coming is not welcomed by the cautious or heretic; a statue of Superman’s likeness is graffitied with the phrase “False God”.
And with this new ‘god’, who many would see him as Earth’s saviour, his very presence brings forth an antithesis, a devil. Batman.
I think this plays on many of the concepts in Kingdom Come, a definitive graphic novel that shows a darker Superman, where his motives, though derived from good intent, pave a path of destruction.
It also seems with Snyder taking this approach, he has turned full circle from his version of the ‘Man’ Of Steel, the humanised Kal-El, to full-fledged alien.
But judge for yourself. Have a look at the trailer below:

Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released in cinemas March 25th 2016
