Scarlet Johansson, after months of rumours, has been confirmed to have been cast in Dreamworks Pictures adaptation of the classic Manga and Anime Ghost In The Shell.
Known for her role in Avengers as Black Widow, and as Lucy in that Akira rip the film of the same name, was offered a cool 10 mill to star in the iconic Masamune Shirow’s cyberpunk film.

Ghost in the Shell tells the tale of Major Motoko Kusanagi, who leads a anti-cyberterroist team under the banner of Public Security Section 9 in future Japan. The manga has gone on to inspire animated features and series, like
Arise as pictured above, as well as video games.
Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street and Suicide Squad) was in early talks for the lead before the studio turned to Johansson, having a bout of recent success in the Lucy , Captain America: The Winter Soldier films.” Variety notes that her involvement will help the project get a green light, which Dreamworks has been trying to do since 2008.
