“Marvel’s Secret Invasion” wades into spy thriller territory with official trailer
Who else could literally play “I Spy” any better?
Hell hath no fury like Marvel’s eye-patched juggernaut that leads SHIELD. And of course who we are talking about is none other than Nick Fury. And Samuel L Jackson’s character is set to shine once more and defend the known world once more. This time the threat is a lot more subverted and dare we say even more alien than he is used to.
Simply put, Marvel’s Secret Invasion is upon us.
And like all spacemen who felt the problems of the world flail into insignificance after spending a good amount of time among the stars, it seems Fury’s detachment from worldly issues is only due to a knowledge of something greater and more destructive on the horizon.
Featuring characters and narratives rooted in Captain Marvel introduction of the Skrulls, it seems Fury is enveloped in a deeper conspiracy that transcends all boundaries and preconceived notions.
In effect, Skrulls are most surely amongst us.
Some secret, espionage spy vibes with this one, which feels refreshing. It will be interesting to see how this fits into the overall tapestry of the MCU, particularly the Disney+ tv series, from here on out.
