This years D23 Expo went into full swing, with Marvel bringing to the forefront it stars and planned movies and Disney Plus-destined TV shows to the forefront in its typical flashy fashion. And whilst we got an eyeful re a few trailer like that of Secret Invasion, other presentations consisted of actors reminding us what’s coming and the promise that it would be awesome.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige took to the stage to share a bevy of brand new announcements as the MCU dives further into Phase 4, 5, and 6 — aka, The Multiverse Saga.
In any case, here are Marvel’s D23 highlights.
Captain America: New World Order
Cast members for the fourth Captain America movie took centerstage, including Anthony Mackie, reprising his role as Sam Wilson – under his newly acquired mantle as the Cap – along with Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley and Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres, as well as director Julius Onah. Additionally, Tim Blake Nelson joins the cast as Dr. Samuel Sterns, reprising his role from 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, along with Shira Haas as Sabra.
director Ryan Coogler shared an exclusive look at a scene and some highlights from the much-anticipated follow-up to 2018’s “Black Panther.” Much to the crowd’s delight, cast members Angela Bassett (Queen Ramonda), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Winston Duke (M’Baku) and Tenoch Huerta (Namor) joined Coogler and Feige on stage.
Newcomer to Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tenoch Huerta shared his experience portraying Namor, “When you go to a new country and a new culture, and be embraced…all this love, to make the best movie ever with a great story, with a love of profound respect for the culture.”
Coogler also shared an exclusive clip from the movie with fans.
In the story, the Wakandans fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. The heroes must band together to forge a new path for the kingdom. Also starring Lupita Nyong’o (Nakia), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Florence Kasumba (Ayo), Dominique Thorne (Riri Williams), Michaela Coel (Aneka), Mabel Cadena (Namora), Alex Livinalli (Attuma) and Martin Freeman (Everett Ross), Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is produced by Feige and Nate Moore, and hits the big screen on November 11, 2022.
Don Cheadle’s character Colonel James “Rhodey” Rhodes returns to suit up in the coming Armor Wars. The event showcased the new key logo art for the coming Disney Plus series. The overarching premise of the narrative for this series is ‘what would happen if Tony Starks tech falls into the wrong hands?’ War Machine is on the case.
Fantastic Four
Nothing much re this one guys, save for Kevin Feige announcing the director attached to the project. During the D23 2022 presentation, the news was unveiled that the Fantastic Four film will be directed by Matt Shakman, in cinemas come November 8, 2024.
Werewolf By Night
Marvel delves deep into its more hidden gems with the announcement trailer for a new Disney Plus series that we are sure you are going to Lycan. Marvel studios goes noir with this body horror infused project – Werewolf By Night.

Don Cheadle’s James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes, AKA War Machine, also returns as backup to Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury in the new trailer for Marvel Studios’ Secret Invasion.
Loki Season 2
Marvel Studios’ Loki Season 2 also has a new cast member! Ke Huy Quan will join Tom Hiddleston as the God of Mischief himself Loki, Owen Wilson as Agent Mobius, Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie in the show’s sophomore season.
Thunderbolts
Kevin Feige takes to the stage to reveal the members of Marvel’s Suicide Squad-esque anti-hero team in the Thunderbolts. The team includes Red Guardian, US Agent, Yelena Belva, Ghost, Taskmaster, and Winter Soldier.
Daredevil: Born Again
Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio took to the stage to remind us of what to look forward to when Daredevil: Born Again begins production in 2023. The actors will be reprising their roles from the Netflix series as Matt Murdock aka the Man Without Fear and Wilson Fisk aka the Kingpin respectively.
