DC Comics’ most-noted venture into the world of anime in recent times may be Batman Ninja, but the style will visit Gotham City once more as news of one of Batman’s notorious villains/anti-heroines will take centre stage. Selina Kyle, also known as the burglar with eyes for shiny things – Catwoman, is set to have her own anime movie with the announced Catwoman: Hunted project.

And to set things even more concrete, the cast list for the anime has been announced.

Playing the voice of Catwoman herself will be actor Elizabeth Gillies. Alongside her, we also have Batwoman played by Stephanie Beatriz, Jonathan Banks portraying Black Mask, Steve Blum playign Solomon Grundy, Lauren Cohan as Julia Pennyworth, Keith David as Tobias Whale, Zehra Fazal as Talia al Ghul & Nosferata, Jonathan Frakes as King Faraday & Boss Moxie, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Barbara Minerva/Cheetah, Kelly Hu as Cheshire, Andrew Kishino as Mr. Yakuza & Domino 6, Eric Lopez as Domino 1, Jacqueline Obradors as La Dama, and Ron Yuan as Doctor Tzin.

The narrative of the anime follows Catwoman on a heist that inadvertently puts the feline theif and all her nine lives in the crosshairs of both the law and the underbelly of Gotham.

Shinsuke Terasawa is directing from a script by Greg Weisman. Ethan Spaulding produces, along with Colin A.B.V. Lewis. Sam Register executive produces.

The movie is expected to debut in the year 2022.

More as things develop.
