Henry Cavill, in spite of bringing his sword arm to the Continent with The Witcher series, seemingly won’t be satisfied until he is the only one left standing with sword in hand and with their head still connected to their body
The Superman actor is now bringing swordplay to a new reboot of none other than Highlander.
Cavill will star as the lead. The reboot is likely to have the main semblance of Highlander lore, being where near-immortal centuries-old Scotsman? – after discovering he’s part of an immortal race of looks to enact some age-old grudge. All the while trying to survive the wave of fellow warriors who seek to behead each other to obtain ‘the Quickening’. Think of that as taking the soul of your kill. An orgasmic experience by the looks of things. Like we need to imagine Cavill’s ‘O’ face.
Director Chad Stahelski – renowned for his role in bringing the John Wick franchise to acclaimed fame – is set to helm the project over at Lionsgate.
