Andy Serkis is set to direct “Venom 2” movie
We are Venom… again
Andy Serkis may be better known for digging into his neanderthal bag as the regressive Gollum in Lord Of The Rings and the superior Caesar in the rebooted Planet of the Apes series and Klaue in Black Panther. Now the actor has his sites on bringing a new lease of life to the coming Sony sequel to Venom.
That is right. Serkis landed the contract to direct Venom 2. And if the teaser post-credits were anything to go by, Carnage is set up to be the main villain. And despite mixed reviews about the Sony-led Marvel movie, Venom did make bank, grossing $856.1 million worldwide.
In any case Serkis sounds elated:
It’s happening. The Symbiote has found a host in me and I’m ready for the ride…Can’t wait!”
Tom Hardy is expected to reprise his role as Eddie Brock aka Venom. The Venom 2 movie is slated for cinematic release sometime in October 2020.
