Teaser Released For Alien Invasion Drama: Arrival

Amy Adams stars in this teaser for Arrival, the first alien invasion movie since Cloverfield. The differences being that Arrival foregoes the ‘shaky cam’ found footage style for the stylised Hollywood shine. Also, Cloverfield saw the first contact between humans and aliens being violence. In Arrival there appears to be an attempt to find peace…initially.

From this teaser it is clear to see that this movie will be visually stunning; that shot of the mist rolling into the valley with the huge pod is beautiful. The appearance of the alien tech is suitably bizarre. This could be the kind of movie that you stare at, fascinated and bemused.

I await the full trailer in eager anticipation which comes to us later this month. With that being said, I sincerely hope that the trailer does not give away too much. That is the worst things that can happen to an alien invasion sci-fi movie. It plays by the same rule as traditional horror, that you should not see the monster.
