“Hawkeye” casts Kate Bishop and more for coming Disney+ series
Should we be taking in the Daredevil connections?
Disney+ plans to bring Hawkeye and the forthcoming transition into female-led role in the coming film franchise has come closer to fruition as a new casting reveals who is set to play Kate Bishop.
Actor Hailee Steinfeld has been placed under the reticle to portray Kate Bishop in the coming Hawkeye Disney Plus series. Steinfeld is best known for her starring role in the Bumblebee Transformers spin-off movie. Steinfeld will star in the Disney+ series alongside current Hawkeye actor Jeremy Renner, as well as Florence Pugh, Vera Farminga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Alaqua Cox and Zahn McClarnon.
Vera Farminga is slated to play Eleanor Bishop, who is Kate’s mother.
Fra Fee is playing the maniacal Kazimierz Kazimierczak aka Clown, whose life of tragedy led to him killing people indiscriminately and delving deep into the hazardous service industry of mercenary work.
Florence Pugh is playing Yelena Belova, the Black Widow. This has major implications of what to expect after the planned Black Widow movie. It seems not only the current Hawkeye can expect a changing of the guards as we may be getting a new Black Widow in future Marvel Movies. That’s what happens when you have everything connected.
Tony Dalton is set to play Jack Duquesne aka the Swordsman. A drunk gambler who taught Clint Barton how to fight with bladed weapons as a member of the Carson Carnival of Travelling Wonders. But don’t let the ‘drunk’ fool you. He’s quite nifty with the blade.
Alaqua Cox plays Maya Lopez. Also know as Echo. Who has the nifty ability to copy and register the moves of anyone she observes. Particular handy in battle. So if you somehow magically landed a blow, you’re gonna have to switch things up cause you won’t be so lucky next time around. And can we just admit it’s a cool name given her ability and that she is deaf and that she has strong character ties to Daredevil. #SaveTheDevil

Another Daredevil connection can be seen in Zahn McClarnon’s character – Willie Lincoln aka Crazy Horse. Crazy Horse worked for The Kingpin and died at Wilson Fisk’s hands, but as he passed, he made Fisk swear to raise his daughter. Fisk did, giving Maya the best of everything, and sending her to the best schools before bringing her in as an assassin he pointed at Daredevil.
