DC Comics now seems to be pushing things into gear, with a host of features lined up to begin shooting, with others to be wrapped up.
In Empire Magazine, an article details Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine, is scheduled to begin this fall. The Justice League feature will enter principal photography in spring 2016. Wonder Woman is currently slated for release on June 23rd, 2017, while Justice League is scheduled to come out November 2017. Justice League: Part 2 is set for release in 2019.
And judging from the article, alot is amiss in the DCU as various projects begin planetary alignment:
Logistically it is staggering. As Batman v Superman gains its coat of special effects, and the various stages of editing, scoring, grading and sound mixing are completed, [producer] Deborah Snyder, along with [producer Charles] Roven, is watching over a sandbox that stretches around the world. [Director Patty] Jenkins is in London prepping Wonder Woman, which will shoot there this autumn. Suicide Squad, already well underway in Toronto under the earthy gaze of [director David] Ayer, will shoot through to September. ‘I do watch the dailies,’ she promises, enthusing about the film’s ‘street quality.’ They are already doing soft prep for the Justice League, which will begin shooting in the spring, and overseeing the script for Aquaman, which James Wan will direct.
This level of consistency may be seen as DC gaining momentum almost a little too late in the game, with the whole Michelle MacLaren situation with Wonder Woman and the many scripts floating around for one feature, but it seems Patty Jenkins is keeping her head down and powering through.
