patty jenkins Wonder Woman. the action pixel. @theactionpixelWith (surprise surprise) Michelle MacLaren left the project over ‘creative differences’, Warner Bros. wasted no time in searching for her replacement and they found it in Director Patty Jenkins.

Jenkins wrote and directed 2003’s Monster, as well as high-profile TV series including The Killing and Entourage.

One thing the recent issues have highlighted is the lack of female directors at the helm of comic book films, a unique voice as such we believe goes unheard. I mean for example the best Punisher film to date was directed by Lexi Alexander, but she’s known to be vocal. A trait that arguably works for her as much as it works against her. Apparently in Hollywood you can’t be too vocal about anything meaningful it seems.

Now the question is whether Jenkins will play ball if her vision doesn’t correlate with the Studio’s plans for Wonder Woman. Jenkins herself has had a bit of comic book film controversy, after Marvel Execs kicked her to the curb and from directing Thor 2, over (you guessed it) “creative differences”.

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in BVS: Dawn Of Justice

Wonder Woman is currently slated for release on June 23rd 2017

Gal Gadot will make her first appearance as Wonder Woman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, out in cinemas March 25th 2016

“Think Patty is up for the gig? Will she play ball or will there be even more “creative differences” with micromanaging studio execs? What could be done to open direction up to more varied talent and creative compromise? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section”
