Marvel has officially entered a new phase in the MCU, and word comes down from Marvel, the Russo brothers and IMAX Corporation that Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2 is to be filmed completely in IMAX® and ARRI’s next generation revolutionary 2D digital camera – a joint customized digital version of ARRI’s new large format Alexa 65.
That’s a whole heap of definition. Afterall, what better way to see the potentially fatal upheaval of the Marvelverse?
Joe and Anthony Russo, the brothers that directed Captain America: Winter Soldier, had this to say about the coming war:
The intent with the Infinity War films is to bring 10years of accumulative storytelling to an incredible climax. We felt that the best way to exploit the scale and scope required to close out the final chapter of these three phases, was to be the first films shot entirely on the IMAX/Arri Digital camera.

Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War – Part 1 is slated for release in cinemas May 4th 2018
Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War – Part 2 will hit cinemas come May 3rd 2019
