ramsey Green Lantern. the action pixelArrow‘s actor David Ramsey has teased fans with the possibility that he could be playing John Stewart in the coming feature Green Lantern.

David Ramsey is Arrow‘s Diggle, who fans have been hypothesising that Diggle is actually Green Lantern‘s John Stewart. And while Ramsey could not confirm or deny the theories surrounding Diggle being Stewart, Ramsey did confirm that there was talks amongst producers about different possibilities, which may involving Ramsey taking the role of John Stewart in the upcoming Green Lantern film in 2020:

They [Producers] have told me that they are thinking about it [playing Green Lantern] and they are considering it. Greg Berlanti told me that. Andrew [Kreisberg] and Marc [Guggenheim] have told me that. I haven’t spoken to Geoff Johns about it, yet. But that’s the word from people directly involved in Arrow – that they’re working on something.

Ramsey’s interest in playing the Green Lantern has its contenders, with Tyrese Gibson starting an all-but-subtle campaign trumpeting his interest for the role, but with Ramsey potentially having his foot in the door, it will be a sure contest to see who comes out on top.

As to whether Ramsey should be allowed to play the Green Lantern? Generally an actor playing different characters on different film productions under the banner of the same comic publisher, you would think it would be best avoid such a move to ensure no confusion. As in essence, you would be connecting the universe of Arrow to that of the Green Lantern film, a precedent that has yet to be seen re crossover comic series / features. But Ramsey is definitely the versatile actor to take on the role if awarded.

But what do you think? Yay or nay? Let us know in the comment section below.

DC Comics’ Green Lantern film is slated for June 19th 2020
