Inspector Gadget reboot coming to Netflix

Netflix as recently acquired the rights to Inspector Gadget to be launched as a series.

A triumph for some of you 80’s kids, certainly, with the original animated series having debuted back in 1983, lasting 2 full seasons. Erik Barmack, the VP of global independent content at Netflix pretty much had the same sentiment:

It’s one of those shows where we’re able to hit a few different audiences. We think that kids are going to love the show … but it’s also going to get some co-viewing because there is a generation of parents who grew up on the original.

Inspector Gadget, like the original, follows a detective fitted with all the James Bond-ish tech and gear in the world which he uses to hunt and takedown of crime syndicates. However, the reboot will be fully computer animated.

The new Inspector Gadget is set to premier on Netflix come March 2015
