Why a Wii-U is what I want for Christmas

WIIU GIFT . THE ACTION PIXEL. @THEACTIONPIXELIt’s been said that Nintendo makes games for children. I remember loving Nintendo when I was a young lad, and the truth is; I still love them. We’ve had our problems, our fall outs and our teething pains, but we’ve grown up together. So when I wake up this Thursday, I hope to see a Wii-U in my stocking. Now let me tell you, it’s not loyalty which drives me to the Wii-U. It’s something that no other next generation console seems to have at the moment, which is suprising since it’s the reason we tell ourselves we buy a console in the first place.

Super Smash Bros, Bayonetta 2, Super Mario 3D WorldMario Kart 8, Hyrule Warriors and the Wonderful 101. These are out, you can get them; and as someone who’s had the opportunity to play them, I can tell you that they’re absolutely phenomenal.

At the end of November, I was invited to a Smash Bros party, in which I participated in a tournament, and had a chance to test out everything the Wii-U has to offer, including the criminally under-rated Hyrule Warriors, which I personally found a joy to play, not least of all because of the incredibly unique co-op opportunities. Both players getting their own screen to play on is novel, and makes me wonder why Sony doesn’t copy them with Vita functionality. It’d make me buy a Vita, that’s for sure. The experience was amazing, and pushed me to take this plunge this Christmas. I know what I’ll be doing come Christmas day.

Merry Christmas everybody, from all of us here at TAP.
