“Joker 2” is coming. And the full title has been revealed.

The Joker sequel has been rumoured and ruminated in exec rooms and fan forums alike for a hot minute. And it has finally been made officially with DC revealing not only the coming sequel but its title.

Director and Co-screenwriter Todd Phillips revealed the title of the Joker 2 movie via social media, which has a touch of class about it. Or at least that is the impression French seems to exude when it comes to film. The title: Joker: Folie á Deux.

And it is a unique title considering it plays on both the fact it is a sequel – ergo deux/the number two. But it also refers to a particular psychological term. Literally, translating as ‘Madness of Two’, it speaks to a shared delusion between two people who are closely associated and connected to each other.

This would hint the Joker may have a partner in crime. Which of course would lead one to speculate Joaquin Phoenix’s character scrubbing of Jared Leto’s Joker may now extend to Margot Robbie. Could we be getting a new Harley Quinn on screen?

In any case, we’re here for the ride as things are clearly still a long ways off from production.
