n spite of Chadwick Boseman’s tragic passing, the Black Panther franchise is still powering ahead. Namely with the announcement of Black Panther‘s second movie – entitled Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. But now there is even more news with regards to what is next for the franchise.
Black Panther is also now set to get its own spin-off series destined for the Disney/Marvel eco-system that is Disney Plus.
And in the spin-off, Danai Gurira, who portrays Okoye, is set to reprise her role. The Black Panther-spin-off is set to be an origins story. She, of course is also set to appear again in the sequel Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Director Ryan Coogler, who helmed the Black Panther movie – is developing the show for Disney Plus.
And if I was a gambling man, it would likely be a story surrounding the rise of the Dora Milaje, the female-led militant protectors assigned to the King and people of Wakanda.
More as things develop.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is slated for cinematic release come July 8, 2022
