The video game adaptation queen that is Milla Jovovich will have to wait just a little bit longer to grace the cinema screens as Sony Pictures has announced the coming movie adaptation of Monster Hunter has been delayed. Likely due to Covid-19, though no official reason has been cited for the delay.

Originally the Capcom game-inspired movie, starring Milla Jovovich and Tony Jaa was slated to premiere later this year – originally set to release in theaters in just a few months on September 4, 2020. Now the date has been pushed back to April 23, 2021.

Jovovich will be playing Natalie Artimis in the movie. Artimis is the leader of a squadrons who gets transported from their world into that of the Monster Hunter video games. And the hunt for monsters begins when Artimis teams up with The Hunter – portrayed by Tony Jaa. And this happens all under the watchful gaze of his boss – the Admiral, a character played by Ron Perlman.
