Zatanna throws her enchanted hat in the ring as conjured rumours of a solo DC movie surface
Hopefully the WB can pull more than a rabbit out of that hat
It would seem a member of Justice League Dark is set to start their own solo journey at the WB Pictures. It is reported that Zatanna solo movie project is currently in development.
Rumours of the Zatanna movie began percolating yesterday, but it was when comic writer Gail Simone seemly confirmed the news in a since-deleted tweet that things became more concrete.
This comes after news that Justice League Dark on and off run to production as a film seemed all but done as news now had the JLD franchise being aimed at becoming an HBO Max TV series. So the fact now Zatanna is being made into a movie may be a final push as a ‘proof of concept’ in erecting a cinematic DC universe on the side of the supernatural.
Zatanna Zatara first appeared in Hawkman #4 in Nov. 1964, and is a powerful magician, on and off stage. So don’t let the showgirl getup fool you. She is as occult as they get and is a key member of the Justice League Dark team.
