It has been a busy night for Sony as they have taken the initiative to dive deep into the more physical aspects of their nex-gen console – the Playstation 5. And they used their Future Of Gaming event to finally reveal the PS5’s hardware, as well as some interesting games set to hit the new platform. This is a definite one up from their last show and tell.
Whilst Xbox has opted for the monolith look, Playstation 5 goes for a sleek, minimalist ‘V’-like construct, with black and white design. Definitely an appliance that you would think to find on a spaceship.
In fact, there will be two versions of the console for gamers to choose from. One version of the PlayStation 5 console comes with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive. The second version – the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – comes without a disc drive.
Description reads:
At launch, we will offer two options: a PlayStation®5 console with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive and a PlayStation®5 Digital Edition without a disc drive. The PS5 gameplay experience will be the same, so the choice is all yours. While there are some slight differences in the look of each model, for the overall design, we wanted to deliver a console that’s bold, stunning, and unlike any previous generation of PlayStation.
