ID Software + Bethesda Softworks has made the decision to push back the intended release for the hellspawn sequel DOOM Eternal. The game was meant to be released this November 22. However, the new release date for the game is now March 20, 2020. So, in the sense of purgatory, it isn’t that long a wait.
In a PSA via social media, the main attribution to the release day shift is to allow for time to execute the greatest possible gaming experience ‘across the board’. Now I do not know any gamer that will have any massive qualms over a creator taking a few extra months to ensure the delivery of a polished game.
Alas, with the delay pushing things back to next year, ID Software is padding up the release with special additions, including a new mode alongside the teased Battlemode – Invasion Mode where you can play as a demon and invade another player’s game. The Nintendo Switch version ofDOOM Eternal releases post-other platforms with a concrete date to be confirmed later. And DOOM 64 is also being made available as a pre-order bonus.

See you in hell in March then.
