The new Power Rangers film looks to set a new precedent for the franchise on the silver screen.
The director of the reboot, Dean Israelite, goes into some detail of not only the style of the film’s narrative, but the technology that is bringing the teams costume to life.
Israelite revealed that the Weta Workshop, the New Zealand-based special effects company behind The Lord of the Rings trilogy, created superhero costumes for the Power Rangers Zack, Trini, Jason, Kimberly, and Billy for the film. Fitted with “new cutting-edge tech”.
Israelite spoke further on the development of the film stating that his approach to revamping the franchise was to “add naturalism and a grounded nature,” whilst making it “character-driven.”
Which is always good thing, as long as these are not buzzwords.
Power Rangers is scheduled for release on January 13th 2017
