It looks like Zendaya’s role in the forthcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming is a big one. It’s being reported that she is up to play the role of Mary Jane Watson.
The iconic love crush of Peter Parker, Mary Jane is often portrayed as a caucasoid redhead in the comics.
As long as the internet vitriol doesn’t go the way of Robert Pattinson and Twigs then we’ll be good. But this is the internet…
“So what do you guys think. Is the world ready for a new Mary Jane for Homecoming? Should we really care that much? Put thoughts in the graveyard box of comments below”
Zendaya will be joining a big cast including Angourie Rice, Bokeem Woodbine Abraham Attah, Hannibal Buress, Donald Glover, Michael Keaton as a villain (he’s back in talks after briefly being out of the running), Marisa Tomei as Aunt May and And of course, Tom Holland as our friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man.
Also on board are Tony Revolori and Laura Harrier. Robert Downey Jr. will appear as Tony Stark/Iron Man.
Spider-Man: Homecoming comes to theatres in July 7th 2017
