A new image from the Saban camp shows Rita Repulsa getting up close and brutally personal from the Power Rangers Movie.
Repulsa, played by Elizabeth Banks, can be seen pinning the Trini against a wall. Actress Becky G is the one taking the beating in the photo, and in a recent interview via EW she speaks about the filming process, and why Repulsa is specifically targeting her.
Rita tries to make Trini feel like she’s the weakest link of the Power Rangers, and she feels it’s easiest to go for her. Rita’s the type to play a lot of mind games, and Trini’s [thinking], “Can I really overpower Rita Repulsa or can I not?”
Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.
Power Rangers stars Becky G as Trini, the Yellow Ranger; RJ Cyler as Billy, the Blue Ranger; Naomi Scott as Kimberly, the Pink Ranger; Ludi Lin as Zack, the Black Ranger; Dacre Montgomery as Jason, the Red Ranger, and Elizabeth Banks stars as the villain, Rita Repulsa.
