Activision, the company that owns World Of Warcraft and franchises, has stepped into mobile gaming in a big way. The company has closed on a deal, acquiring King, the creator of Candy Crush, for a beyond cool $5.9 billion.
King will continue to operate independently, but it marks Activision’s move into new territory, already a global leader.
So Activision bassically is the owner of everyone’s favourite popular game Candy Crush Saga, and its 310 million extra users.
Well played, Activision. Well… played.
