“Supergirl” casts Laura Vandervoort as Indigo

Laura Vandervoort could not stay away from DC Comics it seems. Vandervoort, who played Supergirl in Smallville, is set to appear in CBS’ Supergirl. And no she’s not gunning for Melissa Benoist‘s spot, but has been cast as Indigo.

Indigo in the comics was a living , super-intelligent (and obstinate) android who was an enemy to the Kryptonians, who eventually had her imprisoned. But now she is free, and we are pretty sure she won’t be particularly thrilled crossing paths with Supergirl. And seeing she’s an amazing fighter and strategist, things should be interesting.

Laura Vandervoort’s character will make her debut come episode 17.
