Jewel. Knightress. A few of the superhero names dawned by Jessica Jones before she hung up the superhero gig and decided to schlug through existence as a Private Eye. And with the Netflix + Marvel series impending, the connection between her and the Defenders is becoming more and more identifiable.
Of course Luke Cage, who’s Jones’ boyfriend (played by actor Mike Colter) will also have his own Netflix / Marvel series. But now for Jessica Jones a familiar face from the prolific Daredevil series is set to an appearance: the night nurse Claire Temple played by Rosario Dawson.
Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg eventually gave up the goods on an ET interview:
I think I’m allowed to say: Rosario Dawson will be dropping in. Smaller characters that populated that world will be popping in.
Or just maybe Claire Temple does the damage *twist*! In the comic series, Claire and Luke Cage were an item before Jessica Jones… plus Jessica Jones doesn’t seem above being a ‘homewrecker’.
Synopsis for Jessica Jones reads:
Ever since her short-lived stint as a Super Hero ended in tragedy, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) has been rebuilding her personal life and career as a hot-tempered, sardonic, badass private detective in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Plagued by self-loathing, and a wicked case of PTSD, Jessica battles demons from within and without, using her extraordinary abilities as an unlikely champion for those in need… especially if they’re willing to cut her a cheque.
Marvel’s Jessica Jones series will debut via Netflix later this year
