Mega Man being adapted into an animated series

Capcom ‘s prolific game franchise Megaman is set to hit the entertainment realm in a big way with the announcement of a animated series adaptation.

Dentsu Entertainment USA with Man of Action Entertainment are spearheading the series, which is set tob e a 36 episodic series, using the Man Of Action for their record for creating successful animated series like Ben 10.

Yuichi Kinoshita, President and Chief Executive Officer, Dentsu Entertainment USA, Inc, spoke on the announcement:

We are very excited about the opportunity to introduce an all-new Mega Man to loyal fans and kids,” said Kinoshita, commenting on the deal. “Having a celebrated character from Japan reimagined by Man Of Action is the ideal project for Dentsu Entertainment USA.

Man of Action’s Rouleau also weighed in on the news:

The 1990s Mega Man TV series was cool and different than other series targeted at kids during that time. It featured great action, but also brought the laughs. Mega Man is a character that is even more relevant for today’s kids and we are really looking forward to creating something new that still respects the long tradition of the character.

Megaman is on of CAPCOM’s more prolific game titles having spawned over 100 games across multiple gamer platforms and sold over 30 million copies globally.

There was a Mega Man TV series that aired in the 90’s in the US, which ran for several series and was critically acclaimed. Now, seeing the blue robot back on the screen is definitely a throwback for avid fans and a chance for the new generation to see the godfathers of the platformer.
