DC animated movie roster for 2024 kicks off with “Watchmen” and “Justice League: Crisis Of Infinite Earths”
Ambition looks to condense two of DC’s greatest comics series into individual animation movies.
DC Comics has announced some important animation-centric news for DC fans who may have been curious of what is coming in the animated movie arena.
Well, two narrative classics are coming from the Comics publisher, one that is sure to be cursed by Alan Moore, the other which will have Alex Ross praying for an animation that will live up to his craftsmanship.
DC announced animated movies Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths and Watchmen.
Watchmen, originally written by Alan Moore with art by Dave Gibbons, told the story of the death of a superhero the Comedian. It is however when more heroes begin to share similar fates and attacks, the last of the dying heroes begin uncover a nefarious plot that looks to bring the world to its knees via a world extinction level event.
Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths was multiverse madness before James Gunn and Marvel existed in the zeitgeist of multiverse thinking. The comic run looked to unite the DC under one umbrella with tie-in and crossover events. In the comic series, the Anti-Monitor is unleashed on the DC Multiverse and begins to destroy the various Earths that it comprises. The Monitor, in an effort to undo the damage, tries to recruit heroes from around the Multiverse but is murdered, while Brainiac collaborates with the villains to conquer the remaining Earths. Heroes and Villains alike then have to unite to save what is left of their worlds across universes.
Both animated movies are planned to release in the year 2024.
