“The New Mutants” is the latest to be undone by the Coronavirus
The new and last school of 20th Century Fox can’t catch their breath ðŸ¦
It looks like the mutant virus that goes by the name Covid-19 aka the Coronavirus is doing the most to alter the DNA of Hollywood with the latest seeing Tom Hanks and his wife affected. And much of the films expecting to their premiere has been pushed back months. Hell, Fast and the Furious movie Fast Saga has been pushed back an entire year. But now the movie with all bad luck continues to get hit. The last of the 20th Century Fox-operated Marvel franchise movie – The New Mutants.
The New Mutants is the latest to fall victim to a whole new type of mutant. The movie, with the likes of Mulan, has had its release postponed by Disney.
In a recent statement, Disney said:
As you know this has been a rapidly evolving situation and I wanted to make you aware that we are postponing the releases of ‘Mulan,’ ‘The New Mutants,’ and ‘Antlers’ out of an abundance of caution. We truly believe in the moviegoing experience, and we are looking at new potential 2020 release dates to be announced at a later date
I have another theory that may be using the Covid-19 as a scapegoat and caping for more time to address underlying issues, but maybe my conspiracy meter is fluctuating given the heightened state of the world at the moment.
