Terminator: Dark Fate has been steadily trying to marry nostalgia with a new direction, bringing back the Judgement Day alum back into the fold re: Arnold Schwarzeneggar and Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor.
Now news reveals the original John Connor actor Edward Furlong is returning as the future military hope that is John Connor.
The actor is set to reprise his role in the now-confirmed R-Rated movie.
James Cameron, the director of the first two Terminator films and a producer/writer on Dark Fate, made the announcement during a panel for the movie at San Diego Comic-Con 2019.
There has been several iterations of John Connor since Edward Furlong originally played the character in Terminator: Judgement Day (1991), including Jason Clarke (Terminator Genisys), Christian Bale (Terminator: Salvation) and Nick Stahl (Terminator 3).
Looks like mama gets her real son back.
