Time flies like a vigilante on a grappling hook. The Dark Knight is a whole 10 years old. A decade. Let that sink the fuck in.

Showcase Cinemas is screening The Dark Knight for two days: February 8 and February 11. We’ll gloss over the fact that the feature was initially released on July 18, 2008.

The film was iconic for many reasons. The fact that the comic film genre was being taken seriously as a narrative work of art, the return of a worthy performance from actor Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne / Batman. Not to mention the legendary portrayal of the Joker by the late actor Heath Ledger that got him a posthumous Oscar award and has affected cosplay to this day.

so coming closer to that time we may be seeing more screenings of the prolific feature that defined a generation of comic book films and has made a majority of fans scratch their heads as to why DC and WB didn’t continue the tradition.
