Ever wanted a bad-ass, buddy-cop-like version of Calvin And Hobbes? Well, you probably should know about Spencer & Locke from Action Lab Comics. And if that’s not enough, the comic series is slated to be made into an action franchise.

Adrian Askarieh, the producer of the Hitman action movies, has optioned the movie rights to Spencer & Locke, a comic that has been described as being Calvin & Hobbes by way of Quentin Tarantino.

Constantin Films, the guys behind Resident Evil, are pegged to produce once a package is compiled and signed off on.

Spencer & Locke was created by writer David Pepose and artist Jorge Santiago Jr., the comic tells of a detective whose former grade-school crush is found brutally murdered. The detective’s only recourse is to turn to his strange partner, who happens to be the imaginary pet tiger from his childhood.

Sounds like he needs to work out a few things with a therapist. But to be fair that’s like murdering your only true friend.

More as things develop.
