Writer Drew Goddard reportedly joins “Deadpool 2”
Reportedly Deadpool 2 has a new writer in the mix. According to a Collider article, the sequel to Deadpool has Drew Goddard in its employ, and the article hinted at the writer replacing the current writers that worked on the first.
However, Ryan Reynolds took to Twitter on Wednesday evening to comment on Collider’s report, stating that “.@RhettReese and Paul Wernick are still very much writing the screenplay. They’re the heartbeat of the whole operation.” So based on that statement Drew Goddard may be working in tandem with the original writers, or taking the relay home.
The upcoming feature project also saw T.J. Miller, who directed the first Deadpool, leave the team over creative differences and soon was replaced by David Leitch.
The rejigging isn’t always indicative of something sinister. Then again, this is 20th Century Fox.
