The anglicised DreamWorks film is a take on Masmune Shirow’s original manga and the classic 1995 Japanese anime adaptation.

Batou is the second in command to Motoko Kusanagi, the Major, who is being played by Scarlet Johansson. Ghost in the Shell is being directed by Rupert Sanders, from a script by Jonathan Herman. Avi Arad and Steven Paul are producing.

Ghost in the Shell opens March 31st 2017
