Bryan Singer can’t leave it alone. Trank’s rebooted Fantastic Four has yet to hit cinemas, but already the X-Men director is keen on having Marvel’s first family play part in an X-Men / Fantastic Four crossover feature. Aparently, according to Singer, talks have already begun, according to an interview he had with Yahoo! Movies:
Those ideas are in play. That would be a natural match-up because they’re both ensemble films and there is a natural mechanism by which to do it
Steady there, Bryan, let’s see how your Apocalypse fears. It was eventually going to happen. A matter of… shall we say… time[travel]. We saw it coming.
Time travel. Great for confusing timelines, both narratively and space-time continuums. And with massive characters from both superheroed teams vying for the spotlight, would a crossover in a feature format do more harm than good. And who would direct. Singer or Trank? And wasn’t X-Men being scheduled for a reboot too?
In any case, a crossover would be interesting to see in the least. But we are sure Marvel ain’t particularly pleased about this news.
