Batman has been pretty much the king of the ugliest, most brutal takedowns, purely evident in the Ace Infiltration trailers 1, 2 and 3. But it seems Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham has gotten the ESRB radar in a major way as the game has gotten a M-rating, which is Mature / Adults Only.
The previous Batman games under Rocksteady including Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City have received Teen ratings, and much to Sefton Hill’s surprise, the founder of Rocksteady and director of Batman: Arkham Knight revealed the game would receive a Mature rating:
I’m not blind to the fact that [the M rating] does mean some fans will miss out… I don’t want to be oblivious to that fact,” Hill says. “It would have been wrong to water down the game and deliver a story we didn’t believe in to keep the game ‘mass market’ or enable it for more people. We feel that’s the wrong way to go about it. We said we love the story and we don’t want to jeopardize that.
Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham Knight is set for release June 2nd 2015
