It has been over three decades since the world has seen an episode of Ducktales. But now the series that first debuted in 1987 is due for a remake as Disney ushers in a new bout of series based on the Ducktales franchise.
Set to premiere on Disney XD, the new series will, like its predecessor, focus its narrative around the money-hungry Scrooge McDuck, his grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, and Donald Duck.
Marc Buhaj, SVP, Programming and General Manager, Disney XD was also quick to highlight the monumental move behind bring back the classic Disney series to the modern age:
DuckTales has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history, it drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks’ comic books and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults. Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.
