Rockstar has hinted at the impending arrival of the beloved Western franchise Red Dead Redemption 2. It has been since 2010 since Red Dead Redemption has populated our consoles and screens with rootin’, tootin’ Spaghetti Western badassery, and fans have been looking for a sequel fix for some time now. Reason? It holds the same impetus as GTA as, according to Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick calling Red Dead Redemption a ‘permanent’ title, thus one that would stand the test of time and be subject to numerous sequels and prequels.
And while Rockstar is holding off speaking to lengths about a sequel, they have told fans to stay tuned for breaking news next year in 2015:
As we’ve mentioned when asked in the past about new games in other series such as Red Dead Redemption, Bully, and L.A. Noire, we don’t always rush to make sequels, but that does not mean we won’t get to them eventually
We definitely will be keeping our ears to the web, but for now we’ll be snowball fighting and waiting for Online Heists on Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V.
