Lucasfilm has taken on a new… well a new project. George Lucas and Lucasfilm, the guys reknowned for creating sci-fi opera
Star Wars, has taken on creating an animated musical
Strange Magic, entwined with the magical DNA of Disney.
This “madcap fairy tale musical” is based on the Shakespearean play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. About mythical elves and other creatures who get into all sort of debacles fighting over a magical potion.
This however is not a surprise at all seeing Disney consumed acquired Star Wars, it would only be a matter of time before all the inner-workings of the acquired host would acclimate itself to the Disney machine.
Acting talents already attached to the project includes Maya Rudolph (Big Hero 6) and Bob Einstein (Curb Your Enthusiasm).
The animation will be made via outsourcing Lucasfilm Animation Singapore and Industrial Light & Magic.
Strange Magic is set for release via Touchstone Pictures on January 23 2015.
