Dreamworks Animation / Hasbro merger falls apart

Dreamworks Animation recent flirtations with potential buyers don’t seem to be going too well as their latest wooer, Hasbro, has ended discussions and thus any chance of them buying into Dreamworks Animation. Hasbro, owners of the Transformers brand, were not the only companies that looked to roll out a lucrative deal to acquire Dreamworks; there was this bank too.

But it seems courtship with Dreamworks will come with a hefty pricetag, hopefully not for the creatives as history and lawsuits would suggest.

Either Dreamwork gets back to creating, or she better settle and start putting out. The animation world has taken enough hits this week
