The Simpsons lose chunk of characters as Harry Shearer quits

The Simpsons is set to start production on Season 27 and 28, the long running FOX animation series has run into a little snag. And by ‘little’ we mean potentially detrimental.

Voice actor Harry Shearer has left The Simpsons after 26+ years of service. He voiced, among other Simpson characters, Ned Flanders, Mr. Burns, Principal Skinner, Otto and Smithers. That is a whole catalogue of classic Simpson characters gone in a puff of smoke.

Shearer’s reason for leaving is him wanting to branch out and do other projects.

The Simpsons promise the show will go on, but truly an end of a golden-yellow era for the show.
