“Mortal Kombat II” movie pushes back its release date

The Mortal Kombat II film has had the foot easing off the accelarator as news of the movie has surfaced. The film will be delayed by well over half a year.

The original premiere date slated for Mortal Kombat II was October 24, 2025. The new date for the film has now been pushed back to the following year. More specifically, May 15, 2026.

These things are not usually uncommon, especially when reshoots after initial cuts are needed. Nevertheless, we all hope the decision was made to be a net positive for the franchise.
