It looks like as soon as Marvel + Disney cut ties with director James Gunn over old tweets joking about paedophilia and rape, DC Comics saw this as an opportunity and a win to give him some creative clout in the coming Suicide Squad 2.

The ex-Guardians of the Galaxy director will be putting his pen to paper, writing the script for the Suicide Squad sequel. And we use the term sequel loosely as there is talk of it being something real off-kilter to that of the first.

And there also being talk of no Jared Leto (because aparently there’s been some beef between James Gunn and Jared Leto, where Gunn has accused the musician/actor of being, get this, a paedophile for sleeping with underage models). Jesus Christ, Hollywood.

True or not, James Gunn is also in the run of possibly directing the feature as well, which shows that when it comes to Hollywood, you’re never too morally bankrupt and unhireable as long as you’re connected somehow. And of course, Gunn’s main cheerleader in all of this – Dave Bautista – apparently has his eyes set on DC and being a part of Suicide Squad 2.
