Batwoman is the next DC heroine to join the CW roster in a new series in development

It looks like fans can look to the CW to add more of DC’s prolific characters to the Arrow-verse roster. This time, it looks like Batwoman herself is set to join the ranks. And as CW president Mark Pedowitz announced, their portrayal of Batwoman would be “the first time ever that Batwoman will make a live-action appearance on any screen.” This also means that Gotham City also will be added to the realm of Arrowverse.

The Batwoman series is described as:

Written by Dries based on the DC characters, armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.

The general consensus is they will likely use an actual lesbian actress to portray Batwoman.
