It looks like with Deadpool 2 coming to fans very soon, we can look forward to the next Marvel/20th Century Fox team-up – X-Force. And it seems the coming project has already found its director.

Drew Goddard has been drafted to both write and direct the feature, which will helm the return of Josh Brolin’s Cable and, of course, Ryan Reynold’s Deadpool.

Goddard describes the X-Force movie as “X-Men spinoff film that revolves around Deadpool and Cable leading a Black Ops force of down and dirty mutant warriors who are far more ruthless than their X-Men counterparts”.

Goddard has a solid resume behind him, having directed the likes of Cabin in the Woods and having written Marvel’s Daredevil, Defenders and World War Z.

But with no Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, could we be seeing X-23?

But before all that we have a few X-Men related films to look forward to like New Mutants (April 13th 2018) and Dark Phoenix (November 2nd 2018).

Deadpool 2 is slated for cinematic release come June 1st 2018.
